GRIN has release the latest patch for GRAW 2 brining the version number to 1.03. This patch has been highly anticipated as it brings to light multiple modding tools and their respective tutorials written by GRIN_Wolfsong. The patch also updates many features in the game, streaming lining this soon-to-be-classic.

Because this is such a popular title, The Lotus Vale has uploaded the first two patches as well as the tutorials free to download. The tutorials are Adobe PDF files and can be viewed from any web browser with the correct plugin.

*** I recently started playing a game called EVE-Online with my friend FatalStorm from Team Remembrance. This game is the ultimate gamers crack. It's addictive and engrossing at the same time. It's also a blast to play. Check it out online here. Also check out the LV Forum for EVE Online related materials and a few screen shots.

*** Ghost Recon Adavanced Warfighter 2 for PC is scheduled to be release next week on 17 July 2007.

NEWS -- 4 April 2007

Ghost Recon (OGR) is my favorite game of all time, hands down. It was released in 2001 and has stayed on my hard drive through three different PCs and two HDD failures. It's longevity is due maily to it's modding capabilities. Although I do not make mods myself I have assisted mod developers with consultation and ideas. The most recent mod being the unofficial expansion pack called CENTCOM developed by The CENTCOM Mod Team led by Jay316. It was a pleasure and an honor to be able to contribute and beta test CENTCOM. I truly hope I will beable to enjoy that experience in the future.

The game I am playing with most frequency at the moment is Rainbow Six: Vegas. While this game has many draw backs and only four months into its release it has recieved four upgrades, the game is quite playable and very enjoyable. The single player mode can be trying and exhaustive at times, but over all it has broadened the FPS genre by leaps and bounds through adding new features and innovative approaches to tactical game play. However, the multiplayer portion of R6:Vegas leaves much to be desired. The lack of server controls that come standard with most modern FPS titles are strangely absent. Also the limitation to 4 player in COOP mode leaves most organized gaming teams with separated members and often leaves the fifth man to fend for himself elsewhere. But, adding more players to an already crowded map would leave the kill ratio very low and the over all enjoyment factor even lower. Even though the developers knew that more than four players in a COOP server is what the community and fan-base desired, they chose to leave the gameplay at its optimal player number, four, to maintain playbility. With this I can do nothing other than agree. More to follow soon.
